Tacit Collusion

Supracompetitive coordination reached without any explicit agreement — firms (or pricing agents) converge on high prices purely by observing and reacting to one another’s behaviour over repeated interaction. The central worry of Algorithmic Collusion: learning agents may arrive at collusive outcomes (including Edgeworth-style cycles) with no communication and no intent that a regulator could point to.
