Meshing Subplans

Bratman’s (1992) construction in Shared Cooperative Activity: in genuine cooperative joint action, each participant forms a subplan for their own contribution, and the subplans must mesh — be positively coordinated rather than merely consistent. Stronger than non-interference: the subplans must positively support each other and not inadvertently undermine each other’s success conditions. Computational realisation in SharedPlans (Grosz & Kraus 1996).
