Postel’s Robustness Principle

“Be conservative in what you send, be liberal in what you accept.” The maxim was intended to aid early Internet deployment but is now recognised — especially by LangSec — as a source of interoperability failures and security holes, because liberal parsers diverge on malformed inputs.
