Deliberation Dialogue

A Walton-Krabbe dialogue type whose shared goal is to decide on a course of action in the face of an open practical question. Unlike persuasion (about what is true), deliberation is about what to do. McBurney, Hitchcock & Parsons (2007) gave a formal protocol for deliberation dialogues; in MAS, deliberation is the natural target of multi-agent planning, Joint Intentions, and group decision-making.
